Wyoming's Future is a small (and
growing) group of Wyomingites that want
to preserve the liberty that is a
trademark of the Wyoming way of life.
The notions of independence,
liberty personal responsibility are the
bedrock of the history and future
of Wyoming.
During 2008 our informal group would
frequently gather and inevitably the talk
would turn to the upcoming 2008
elections. With the out of control cost
of healthcare it seemed every candidate
had an idea on how to address the
problem.. The problem was each candidate,
no matter the party, started his or her
solution with, "The government must
mandate...", or "We must get
everyone..." or worse "We must
force...:" It stuck all us that
no one was taking our individual rights
into account when addressing the
healthcare issue.
Luckily on October 25th
George Will
published his column about Arizona's
Proposition 101. It was a welcome
breath of fresh air as it shifted
the debate from some draconian
government mandated solution to where it
should have started in the first place,
it aimed to keep our healthcare
decisions exactly where it needed to be,
with each individual citizen!
The wonders of the internet quickly
introduced us to
MedicalChoiceForAz.com and the idea
behind Proposition 101 took hold.
The idea of
making this happen in Wyoming got
started, and we have been working to
preserve the medical liberty of Wyoming
citizens ever since.
A commonly heard Wyoming campaign ad in 2008
said, "People say 'Wyoming is what
America used to be.'" We hope you
will agree in thinking with initiatives
like the Freedom of Choice in Healthcare
Act and the principles it
represents people will think differently
about Wyoming. and say "Wyoming is what America should
be."
